I'm a Christmas junkie. I admit it. I put up my tree and decorations the weekend after Thanksgiving. I've got the holiday CDs in the changer, and the cheesier, the better -- N*SYNC! The Carpenters! Barbra Streisand! Neil Diamond! I tune in the 24-hour Christmas music radio station. The fridge is always stocked with egg nog. I drag Ken to the holiday lights displays.

This year has been especially fun, because Julia's now old enough to appreciate the season, and who better to indulge in Santa magic with than a 2-year-old? She helped decorate the tree, we've seen Santa (more than once, at different malls, but always from a respectable distance), we've walked through the lights at Brookside Gardens, we've made sugar cookies and decorated them, we've watched "The Grinch Who Stole Christmas," we're counting down on the advent calendar. And this year we actually have a toy to assemble after she goes to bed on Christmas Eve so it can appear from "Santa." It's a lot of fun and I can't wait until Christmas morning ...
