I so have to get
this onesie. Julia is a Poo Factory if ever there was one, as her daily laundry production demonstrates. Pampers are no match for her!

We close on this house in 1 week. That same day, the majority of the Blumofe clan arrives for a visit. Our very first house guests in our new abode.

We move in less than a week. Our house has been transformed from the Zen of showings, with all surfaces empty and extraneous items tucked out of view, to the Chaos of packing. Somehow the more that is packed into boxes, the messier the house gets. Ken is having to do the lion's share of the work again, as it is easier for me to feed Julia than for him. He also needs to expend the nervous energy. Unfortunately, it's easier to pack everything than to sort through it as we go, so we're going to wind up unpacking a lot of crap that will ultimately wind up at Goodwill. Or maybe we can finally have our first ever yard sale?

DC messed up Julia's birth certificate, as somehow I knew they would. And since they don't re-issue birth certificates, only some sort of amendment that you're supposed to attach to it, I'm not sure it's worth trying to fix. Despite passing a law 2 years ago that allowed parents to select their child's last name, including any combination of mother's and father's names, and a place on the form specifically to allow mothers to enter their maiden names, mine was left off. I wasn't going to use all four names for her most of the time to save form-completing hassle, but I wanted Strom to be a legal part of her name. Two of her other names are Korean, and that was the one part that had ties to my side.
But maybe I don't need the Strom after all. After Julia was born and named, I discovered that her first name has family connections. Her great great grandmother was Edna Julia Nedermeier Idle (my paternal grandmother's mother) and my paternal grandfather's late sister, who died in a swimming accident when she was just 4, was Julia Kathren Strom.
