After a couple of weekends of house hunting, we've found a new place: 10017 Sidney Road in Silver Spring. It's just a couple of miles away from our current abode. The moving madness begins in July. And the interior decorating begins again ...

5 weeks old — week 6. The indignities of being a tiny bebe. If it's not infant acne, it's cradle cap or gas. Despite it all, Miss Julia remains our sweet little potato, happy and uncomplaining. Even when her tummy bothers her, she tries very hard to stay asleep during the night.

Miss Julia was 4 weeks old on Monday. One month already! We had a pediatrician visit and she has plumped up indeed — 9 pounds. Meanwhile, Grandpop Strom and Grandmom Arminta came to visit and were a whirlwind of gardening activity, including the long-awaited destruction of the bizarro shed out back. The yard and grounds are much neater and more attractive, all the better for selling the house, as we now realize we are ready to do. One month of carrying the stroller, not to mention the baby, up and down the front stairs and up the road to the car will do that. We had always planned for this to be the starter house, and the time has come. Adventure Baby has therefore been very patiently dragged along to several open houses as we look for a new home for her and us. It will be a busy summer indeed.

And the Brood X cicadas hum along in the background ...

Miss Julia is now 3 weeks old. Tomorrow is our 3 year anniversary. Lots of milestones.

Here is a (mostly) typical day in my new life with the baby: 11 p.m.: bedtime.3-4 a.m.: Feeding time. Change diaper. 7 a.m. Feeding again. Change diaper. 8-9:30: Try to sleep some more. Grab breakfast. 9:30-10:30: Feeding. Change diaper. 10:30-11: Shower. 11-noon: Feeding. Change diaper. Noon-12:45: Grab lunch. Make phone call. 12:45-1:45: Feeding. Change diaper. ... OK, you get the picture. Sometimes in the afternoon we get a longer nap or a walk. Sometimes it's several feedings in a row. Then in the evening, papa comes home and gets some baby time in between the feedings. It's amazing how often such a tiny creature needs to eat. In fact, it's rather like this.

The adventures of Miss Julia: Visit from Nana, stroll in the park, 3 pediatrician visits, 1 Target outing, 1 trip with Nana and Mama to the hair salon. And she is now a 7 lb. 8 oz. baby burrito.
