Carson's the fun and flamboyant one, but my favorite is Ted, for his dry, sardonic wit.

Geek celebrity sighting: Steve Case having lunch at the Iron Gate.

This whole "touch of lemon" marketing gimmick is getting out of hand. First, it was Diet Coke with Lemon, which inevitably led to Pepsi Twist. And they tasted pretty good, although I've always been partial to Cherry Coke myself. But now they've added lemon to V8 juice and tuna. What's next, coffee?

If our cat could talk, he would say things like "Dude!" and "Aw, man." He's rarely vocal, except to express displeasure at one of the following: not wanting to be ordered to go outside, not wanting to be outside, and not wanting to quit doing whatever bad thing he's doing. The conversation goes something like this:
Me: "Tigger! Stop that!"
Tigger: "Duuuuuude!"
Or: Me: (Clapping) "Out out!" (This is cat-speak for "Go outside now. Really. I mean it.")
Tigger: "Aw, man."
Me: (More clapping) "Out, out, out!"
Tigger: "Duuuuuude!"

The other cat doesn't speak at all, except when she suddenly starts emitting a random serious of vocalizations with absolutely no context whatsoever. We really have no idea what she's talking about.

Perhaps we need the Meowlingual.

Friday night at Mi Rancho in Silver Spring was a grand gathering of x-devils, distinguished alumni of the late and unlamented idev. The crowd kept growing, tables were added, the margaritas were flowing, tales were swapped. Making an appearance, in no particular order: Catherine, Janire, Lynn, Chuck, Shelby, Karrie, Brett, Martin, Sarah, Aaron, Mark. Hard to believe it's been at least 2 years since most of us worked together.

Best radio station slogan ever. (Hint for non Dutch speakers: Click on Informatie and check out the CafePress store.)

Can the California recall race get any wackier? Arnold's candidacy — and how, exactly, is he qualified to run the world's 5th largest economy? — is downright mainstream when you consider that Larry Flynt, Gallagher and Gary Coleman have also tossed their hats into the ring.

Apparently I am an idealist. It's pretty spot-on for the most part, although my Traditionalist shopping interests would seem to indicate otherwise.

I stumbled across the web site for my childhood school district and it has a slogan of "The Smart Choice for your child's education." Um. Choice? Maybe things have changed since I lived there in the '80s and the bustling urban metropolis that is our beloved Biscuit is now bursting with charter schools, but used to be the only choice was the lone Catholic school that only went through 8th grade. We were always jealous of the kids at that school because they got all kinds (seemingly) of religious holidays off. It was probably just Good Friday, but a day's a lot when you're 9.

Celebrated Restaurant Week on Friday by having lunch at Galileo with, and courtesy of, coworker and serious foodie Karim. The roasted beef with pesto was good but not outstanding, but the accompanying mashed potatoes were heavenly, as was the chocolate cake dessert. Thanks, Karim!

Saturday I was treated again, this time by Lisa, to tickets to "Bugs Bunny on Broadway" with the National Symphony Orchestra at Wolf Trap. I've always wanted to go there, and after 5 years in DC, it was my inaugural trip. I was not disappointed. What a fantastic venue and what a fun performance. (Kill the wabbit ...) Thanks, Lisa!
