I don't know if this is scary or funny.

Saw "About Schmidt" last night with Catherine. Quiet, sweet, meandering little story about a Midwestern man's journey from retirement to his daughter's wedding and the moments in between. Jack Nicholson was good, but I think his performance is being recognized more for what it isn't -- over the top -- than what it is.

What is with people who still have their Christmas lights and decorations up? I'm all for enjoying the holiday season, but first of all, it started practically the day after Halloween, and second of all, even the 12 days of Christmas ended over 2 weeks ago! Enough already. And speaking of holiday-themed merchandise, what exactly are you supposed to do with Valentine's Day pajamas? Wear them one night a year? One month a year? Do people really have drawers filled with festive sleepwear to be rotated regularly? And are these the same people who buy holiday-decorated photo frames at Target and presumably move their photos from frame to frame or possibly even put away the Christmas photos and frames in February and break out the Cupid pix? ... If I were funny, would this be the start of a standup routine?

Today's diversion.

The amusing musings of one of the x-idevils, ladies and gentlemen, Mr. Gino Bona.

One of my favorite comics.

And our current guilty pleasure.
